what’s new (dramaturgically)?

dancing at lughnasa - summer 2024

I’m thrilled to be back at American Players Theatre this summer dramaturging their production of Brian Friel’s beautiful play, directed by the incredible Brenda DeVita. The script and the sisterhood is rich and such a joy to explore. Catch the performances in Spring Green starting August 2nd (the day after Lughnasa in the Celtic calendar)!

wipeout - winter 2024

I assistant dramaturged Aurora Real de Asua’s new play, WIPEOUT (dir. Tara Mallen), at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble as part of its National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere. I learned a lot about surfing. Tickets are selling quickly - catch it before it closes in April!

dramaturgy @ american players theatre - summer 2023

I dramaturged two productions at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, WI: the US premiere of Once Upon a Bridge, directed by Laura Rook, and Proof, directed by Brenda DeVita. It was a dream to compile in-depth packets and what I call “sensation research”: photographs, art, videos, and even sounds that flesh out the world of the play for the artists. Catch Bridge through October 7 and Proof October 26 through November 19.

education internship @ pegasus theatre chicago - winter 2021

I’m thrilled to support Pegasus Theatre’s education and outreach through their residency with Chicago Public Schools and dramaturg upcoming new play workshops this winter. So far, I’ve had the chance to hand-design daily social media posts, help organize the Opening Ceremony for the 34th Young Playwrights Festival (the oldest of its kind in the US!), and even compose closed captions for the accessibility of the streamed Festival.

zoom dramaturgy - fall 2020

This fall, I dramaturged Evergreen Theatre Collective’s Zoom production of A Doll’s House! I was lucky enough to work alongside a fellow dramaturg, Sloan Garner, as the director; drawing on concepts of hygge and its creepy opposite, uhygge, we led our rehearsal room to explore the layers within Ibsen’s play.

education internship @ chicago shakespeare theatre - summer 2020

I’m thrilled to join Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s Education Department as an Intern (post-quarantine). I’ll collaborate with the team on compiling resources for teachers making Shakespeare-friendly classrooms and foster CPS students’ in-depth engagement with the Bard’s work in the Chicago Shakespeare Slam.
